Aim of qualification
To enable learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with a casualty that is unconscious and not breathing adequatley.
This qualification comprises of trainer led demonstration of CPR skills followed by practice by learners.
Carers for the elderley or persons with heart conditions, who due to thier illness areat high risk of suffering a Cardiac Arrest.
There are no formal entry requirements but in order to benefit from learning, learners should be physically able to demonstate CPR. This will involve kneeling on the floor and leaning over a casualty, whilst pushing down on their chest.
Learner to trainer ratio
There is no assessment but feedback on performance can be given.
